Meet the Owner: Sheila was born, raised and educated in Philadelphia holding both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from Temple University. Prior to starting Elegant Events Florist, Sheila had a professional career in Information Technology working as a developer, resource manager, project manager and college instructor for 22 years.

Combining her eye for color and design along with a love for flowers which she inherited from her grandmother it was only natural that she turned her passion into a second career. Her style is timeless elegance. When designing an event her goal is to produce an event that will look fresh and current 20 years from now.

Over the years Elegant Events has been featured in Philadelphia Wedding Magazine, Maharani Weddings, Borrowed and Blue and has been the subject of local news stories.

Sheila has been a proud member of the Association of Bridal Consultants since 2003 serving as Philadelphia Director and Pennsylvania State Manager from 2006 through 2016. In these role she led the ABC of Southeastern PA in hosting wedding gown sales for Bride’s Against Breast Cancer and the Career Wardrobe along with raising funds to distribute Thanksgiving baskets throughout the city of Philadelphia.

Sheila is Philly proud and will explain to anyone that being located between the most popular city in the world, NYC, and the most powerful city in the world ,Washington D.C., makes Philadelphia the center of the universe. This pride in her roots fuels her passion for serving the community, delivering smiles and designing magnificent events throughout the Delaware Valley.
